What "Redesign" Actually Means
Signs a Redesign Is Probably Enough
Signs You Actually Need a Rebuild
The Honest Middle Ground
How to Actually Decide
- Does the site's structure and content serve your business well? If yes, redesign is on the table.
- Is the performance fundamentally broken, or just suboptimal? If fundamentally broken, the platform is likely the culprit, rebuild.
- Do you need functionality that doesn't exist on your current platform? If yes, rebuild.
- Do you own and control everything, code, hosting, domain? If no, consider whether this is the moment to fix that.
- Is the existing site maintainable? If no one can update it without breaking things, the technical debt has probably made a rebuild the cheaper long-term option.
